Type a temperature in any scale — the other two update live.
°F = °C×9/5 + 32. K = °C + 273.15. Celsius is anchored to water (0° freeze, 100° boil at sea level); Fahrenheit to brine and body temperature historically; Kelvin to absolute zero, the point where molecular motion stops. Worked example: 20°C × 9/5 + 32 = 68°F. Absolute zero: −273.15°C = 0 K.
-40°F — the one point where the two scales meet. Below that they diverge again.
Historical inertia. Fahrenheit's finer degrees suit weather talk; Celsius's 0–100 water scale suits science.
-273.15°C / -459.67°F / 0 K — the coldest theoretically possible temperature.
